Run APK files on an iPhone
An iPhone can't install Android apps, but it can show one. The APK runs on a real Android™ device in the cloud and you use it right here in Safari: tap, type, rotate, hear it.
How to open an APK on an iPhone
Three steps, all in Safari. Nothing is installed on the iPhone itself.
Download the APK in Safari
From APKMirror, the app's own website or wherever you got it. Safari saves it to Files, in Downloads.
Choose it on this page
Tap Choose file above and pick the APK from Downloads in Files. It is checked first, on the iPhone: package, version and whether it will run.
Sign in and use the app
One Google sign-in, no card. The Android device starts in a minute or two with your app open.
An Android emulator that works on iOS
There is no Android emulator in the App Store, and "Android for iPhone" downloads outside it are not what they claim. A cloud device needs neither: the iPhone only shows the screen and sends your touches.
Touch, like a phone
Tap, swipe and scroll on the Android screen. The Keyboard button brings up the iPhone's keyboard to type into the app.
Sound
The app's sound plays through the iPhone, even with the silent switch on. Mute it from the toolbar.
Sideways for a bigger picture
Turn the iPhone and the toolbar moves to the side, so a game or a video gets the full height.
Full screen from the home screen
Share → Add to Home Screen opens ApkRunner without Safari's bars, like an app of its own.
iPad too
Same in Safari on an iPad: a phone-sized Android screen with room around it. Phone, small and large phone sizes, Android 12 to 15.
Nothing stays behind
Each session gets its own device, wiped when it ends. The uploaded APK is deleted from our servers after an hour.
Good to know before you start
- It needs iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later and a steady connection, Wi-Fi or mobile data: the screen is a live video stream.
- The device has no Google Play services, so apps that need a Google sign-in, Google Maps or push notifications may not fully work. The check before the start tells you.
- An .apk, .xapk, .apks or .apkm up to 200 MB. App Bundles (.aab) are not supported.
- Calm apps and games feel native; fast action games show the stream's delay.
- A session ends after 3 minutes without input, so an idle device does not use up your minutes.

APK on iPhone: FAQ
Can you install an APK on an iPhone?
No. iOS only installs iOS apps, and an APK is an Android app. ApkRunner doesn't install it on the iPhone: it runs on an Android device in the cloud, and the iPhone shows it in Safari.
Do I need a jailbreak or an app?
Neither. It is a web page; Safari is enough. Nothing is installed and no settings on the iPhone change.
Is it free?
Every Google account gets 30 free minutes, in one session or several. Longer use is under pricing.
Where do I find APK files on an iPhone?
Download them in Safari as you would on Android: free apps are on APKMirror and open-source ones on F-Droid. They land in Files → Downloads. You can also open Android without an APK and install apps from the Uptodown store on the device.
Does it work in Chrome on an iPhone?
Yes: every browser on iOS 16.4 or later works, since they all run on Safari's engine.
Is my APK private?
Before you sign in the file does not leave your iPhone: it is checked on this page. After that it is uploaded only to start your own device and is deleted after an hour. See the privacy policy.
